Hike to Taktsang which is popularly known as Tiger’s Nest. The icon of the country, the site is sacred to all bhutanese and is considered as one of the most venerated pilgrimage site in the buddhist kingdom. According to legends, Guru Rinpoche flew to Bhutan from Tibet on the back of a Tiger in the 8th century and chose this spot for meditation. This Monastery is built in the rocky cliff that towers to 900m above Paro Valley. 3 hrs of moderately challenging hike will lead you to the Monastery and 2 hrs back retracing the same route to the parking lot.
